David Lozeau

David Lozeauhas a bold, character-driven painting style that wraps Day of the Dead iconography in a Wild West aesthetic, balances historical accuracy and Lowbrow absurdity, and blends fine art technique with illustrative humor to reveal his unique perspective on life, death, and all the messy stuff in between.

David layers acrylics, gouache, and enamel to create vibrant, unforgettable paintings with interesting narratives and tight line work and then builds his own custom wood frames to complete his vision for each piece.

Lozeau shows his art in galleries on three continents, collaborates with Disney, LucasArts, El Jimador Tequila, Fender, and Tiki Farm, and is featured in countless magazines and books. And MOST IMPORTANTLY is featured in THE Michael Godard Art Gallery in The Rio Hotel, Las Vegas!

Episode #8 of "That's Art!? with Bif Naked" profiles David Lozeau, a Day of the Dead artist from San Diego whose career is flourishing despite rejection from mainstream art galleries.
