"When asked, “what do you paint?” I often answer with – “I’m a wildlife artist”. While this answer is a tongue in cheek response, I do tend to gravitate towards the decadent side of the music industry. I often pick subjects that have lived hard, fast and on their own terms. For this reason, I usually lean towards the Rock n’ Roll genre with a few exceptions – the “Man in Black” is definitely one of those exceptions. Johnny Cash’s outlaw attitude, iconic look and unwillingness to change for anyone have allowed this entertainer to transcend musical genres and gain a truly eclectic fan base. To say Johnny Cash lived life on his own terms would be greatly understated. To his dying day he continued to surprise me, his last few offerings went against the current perception of country music artist as he once again made my jaw drop with his renderings of NIN’s “Hurt” and Soundgarden’s “Rusty Cage”. He may have left us, but he did so without leaving any doubt in our minds that he was a true outlaw, visionary and icon." -Stickman
